Wonton Soup

How to make Fresh Wontons with Chef Sam.

Wonton Soup Recipe

1 lb Ground Pork

1/2 lb Chopped Shrimps

1/2 cup Chopped Green Onions

1 Egg

1 tsp Salt

1 tsp Sugar

1 tsp Cornstarch

1/2 tsp Chicken Base

1 tsp Light Soy Sauce

1/2 tsp Sesame Oil

2 packages of Wonton Sheets 

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.

  2. Put about 1 tbsp of mixture in the middle of each wonton.

  3. Put a little bit of water around the edge of the wonton and seal.

  4. Fold in half and seal then pinch the tip of the two edges together.

  5. Add 1/2 tsp of salt in a pot of boiling water.

  6. Add wonton and cook until they float.

  7. Prepare each bowl with 1 tsp Dark Soy Sauce and 1 tsp Sesame Oil (season to taste)

  8. (Optional) Add Egg Noodles and Baby Bok Choy.

  9. Add wonton to each bowl then ladle in your soup base.

Soup Base:

  1. Boiling Water in a pot (about 6 cups)

  2. 1 tsp Chicken Base, or 1 can Chicken Broth (for best results, boil water with chicken bones)

  3. Sliced Ginger

  4. White part of the green onions
