Best Tasting Sugar Cookies and Frosting

The past couple of weeks, Chef Sam was fighting her cold along with her allergies so we haven't been able to do any recordings. Luckily, she recovered last week and I was able to squeeze in a quick Christmas photoshoot and celebrate her recovery by making these yummy Sugar Cookies.

As young as she is, she actually missed being in the kitchen and cooking again. Watch her video below and see for yourself how cooking or baking can bring a bright smile on her face.

This sugar cookie recipe is seriously super delicious and so easy to make! Check it out and try it. You're gonna love it!

Sugar Cookie Recipe

  • 1 1/2 cups Unsalted Butter (3 sticks), room temperature

  • 2 cups granulated Sugar

  • 4 Eggs

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Almond or Vanilla Extract

  • 5 cups All Purpose Flour (more for rolling)

  • 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder

  • 1 Teaspoon Salt

  • 3 cups Powdered Sugar (sifted)

  • 3 to 4 Tablespoons Milk

  • 2 Tablespoons Light Corn Syrup

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Almond or Vanilla Extract

  • Gel Food Coloring

  1. Combine the Butter and Sugar in a stand mixer or electric hand mixer and beat until creamy.

  2. Mix in the Eggs one by one and Extract until well combined.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the Flour, Baking Powder, and Salt.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients into wet until completely combined.

  5. Divide dough into 3 or 4 and cover with Saran Wrap.

  6. Chill in fridge for at least 2 hours (or 15 minutes in the freezer if you're in a hurry)

  7. Remove from fridge and preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  8. Roll out the dough on flour surface until dough is 1/8" to 1/4" thick. (I used two chopsticks on each side to help make it even but you can use whatever you like)

  9. Cut with cookie cutters and place on ungreased baking sheet (about an inch apart)

  10. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes but watch it closely. Cookies are done when the bottom part is barely golden brown. Cool the cookies completely on wire racks before adding frosting.

  11. Frosting Instructions: Mix together the Milk, Light Corn Syrup, and Extract until frosting reaches desired consistency. Add more milk to make it thinner or more powdered sugar to make it thicker.

  12. Divide frosting into separate bowls and add gel food coloring. Mix well until desired color.

  13. Put frostings in individual zip lock bags, or squeeze bottles. You can pipe, dip, or spread the frosting however you like. Add sprinkles before the frosting dries. That's it. Enjoy!

We wish you an abundantly blessed Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!
