My two oldest daughters are so busy these days with work and school so whenever there's a chance, I like to make a big family meal involving my whole family so it was build your own bún tôm thịt nướng (Vietnamese grilled pork and shrimps with vermicelli noodles) night.
With bún tôm thịt nướng, I plated each ingredient separately and depending on taste, everyone put whatever they like into their dish. It's a great meal that my family loves.
Prep time: 5 minutes
I let Sam build her little tree and she absolutely loved it. She initially rejected the dish at first because there was a lot of greens but when she was able to pour her own nước mắm (fish sauce) from the watering can into the dish she was willing to try it. After one bite, she gave me a thumbs up!
I don't have a green thumb, but maybe Sam will have one someday.
